We ask that you carefully examine this policy before securing a reservation. By reserving a yacht with CalmSeaShore, you are consenting to and accepting these terms regarding refunds.
Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule
More than 72 Hours Before Charter
Qualifies for: Complete refund except for service charges
Processing Duration: 5-7 business days
Service Charge: $50 for credit card transactions
Requirements: Must be requested formally through email or by telephone
24-72 Hours Before Charter
Qualifies for: Half of the complete charter expense
Processing Duration: 7-10 business days
Service Charge: $25 taken from the refund amount
Requirements: A valid explanation is needed; administrative costs apply
Less than 24 Hours Before Charter
Qualifies for: Refunds are not available
Exceptions: Exceptions for emergencies may be taken into account
Alternatives: At management's discretion, a credit for chartering may be offered
Requirements: Documentation is necessary for emergency claims
Weather-Related Cancellations
Our Weather Guarantee
Your safety comes first. In the event that our licensed captain determines that the weather conditions are not safe for sailing, we present you with several choices:
- Complete Refund: A full refund is provided if rescheduling is not viable
- Reschedule: We offer the opportunity to transfer your booking to another available slot without any extra charge
- Charter Credit: A voucher good for one year from the original booking date
Weather Evaluation Procedure
We take the following into account when assessing weather conditions:
- Analysing wind speed and direction
- Assessing wave height and ocean state
- Visibility and forecasted rainfall
- Advisories and cautions issued by the Coast Guard
- Evaluation of safety by our professional captain
Decision Timeline: A decision regarding weather cancellations is made no later than 4 hours before the planned departure time.
Medical Emergency Refunds
Critical Circumstances
We comprehend that unforeseen medical emergencies can arise. The following are scenarios that might be eligible for special consideration:
- Sudden sickness or injury necessitating hospital admission
- Passing of a close family member
- Critical military service obligations
- Legally mandated jury service or court appearance
- Natural catastrophes impacting travel
Documentation Requirements
To accommodate requests for emergency refunds, you'll need to provide the following:
- A medical statement or proof of hospitalization
- Death certification when relevant
- Detailed military commands
- Court summons or official notification of jury duty
- Emergency declarations or advisories regarding travel
Processing: Refunds due to emergencies are processed within a timeframe of 3-5 business days once the proper documents are received.
Operational Cancellations
Technical Issues
Should the assigned boat encounter an irreparable mechanical issue:
- Alternate Boat: We will attempt to offer an equivalent replacement vessel
- Full Refund: Provided when no adequate alternative boat can be found
- Partial Refund: If the replacement vessel operates at different rates
- Compensation: Potential additional compensation for the inconvenience may be available
Unavailability of Crew
Although it rarely happens, if the certified crew is unable to be present:
- Replacement crew will be arranged if feasible
- Full refund is given if the charter is not possible
- Option to reschedule with no extra cost
Refund Processing
Payment Method
We process refunds using the same method originally used to make the payment:
- Credit Cards: 5-7 business days
- Bank Transfers: 7-10 business days
- Cash/Cheque: 3-5 business days
Processing Fees
Credit Card Transactions
$50 charge for cancellations that occur more than 72 hours prior
Bank Transfer Refunds
$25 charge for all refunds executed via bank transfer
International Transactions
There could be additional charges for international financial operations
Charter Credits
Scenarios for Credit Issuance
Charter credits are sometimes presented as an alternative to a refund under certain conditions:
- Late cancellation instances (under 24 hours)
- Cancellations due to weather
- Voluntary requests for rescheduling
- Complications in operation
Stipulations for Credit
- Validity: Credits are valid for a period of 12 months post-issue
- Transferability: Credits are non-transferrable to other individuals
- Value: Equal to the total cost of the charter, without deductions for processing
- Application: May be used for any available yacht rental
- Expiry: Extensions are not granted beyond the 12-month period
Refunds for Partial Services
Disruptions in Service
Should your yacht charter be disrupted or shortened due to facets within our control:
- A refund proportional to the unused portion
- A voucher for a future charter of the same value
- Additional complimentary services or upgrades
Interruptions Caused by Guests
If a yacht rental must end earlier due to actions or safety infractions by guests:
- No reimbursement for the unused duration
- Full payment for the charter remains obligatory
- Extra fees may be levied
Conflict Resolution
Should there be a disagreement regarding a refund decision, options include:
- Ask for an evaluation by our administrative staff
- Submission of any additional evidence or documents
- Seek out consumer protection bodies for mediation
- Explore legal options as permitted by prevailing legislation

Step 3: Verification and Execution
Once we receive your claim, acknowledgement will be provided within a day, assessment under this policy will occur within two days, and any ratified refunds will be handled as outlined in the processing times stated above.
